At Dining Stones, a family-owned business, we pride ourselves in being dreamers who take action. Our family’s first dream was to build a log cabin on an acreage with trees. After making a commitment to give up unnecessary expenses in order to make this change, we sold our four-bedroom, two-story home in central Iowa and purchased 63 wooded acres in the southeastern part of the state. There we built a one-room open architecture log cabin similar to a loft apartment environment with cedar wood vaulted ceiling. Okay, there is a private bathroom!
That was in 2000, then in 2007 we made our second dream come true: owning our own business.

Deb Chance, CEO, grew up hearing her father’s stories about the cold damp Missouri winters of his childhood. To warm up the winter nights, his mother would heat stones on the wood stove and slip them between the blankets. Many years later, Deb had the thought: if a stone could heat blankets, couldn’t it heat a plate of food as well? A mother, gourmet cook and “idea person” Deb understood first-hand the importance of keeping food hot to enhance taste. The result is Dining Stones, a true innovation for anyone who loves delicious food that stays steamy to the very last bite.
