<p>I make sure that my Dining Stones are placed in the oven about 30 minutes before the meal is ready to serve.  They are piping hot when I take them out and place them in their wood holding tray.  Then right on top of the hot stone I place the plate of warm food.  It keeps the food warm to the last bite.  I personally do not like it when my warm food gets cold on the plate &#8230; so this is an easy and effective solution.  <span style="color: #993300;"><strong><a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Corn-Stone.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1005" title="Corn &amp; Stone" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Corn-Stone-240x300.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="300" /></a>What a great gift idea for your family!!!</strong></span></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Soup-1-Close-up-1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-973" title="Soup 1 Close up 1" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Soup-1-Close-up-1-300x248.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="248" /></a>When I am ready to plate my meal, I remove the hot stone from the oven, set it in the wood tray holder, and then place my plate of delicious food on top to radiate heat all during the meal.  Even the last bite is warm!  I can take my time eating which is always a good thing.  I have heard it takes about 8 minutes for the stomach to recognize that it is full, so the slower I eat the less I eat!</p>

<p>If you have been following my blog, you know that the central theme throughout has been how much I don&#8217;t like my food getting cold on the plate during a meal.  I invented and created Dining Stones to solve that problem and have been sharing the product with the world since 2007.   In addition to the standard way of heating the stones in the oven or toaster oven, I have been trying to be creative with other ways of heating the stone.  <a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4225.jpg"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-951 alignright" title="CIMG4225" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4225-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>During the summer, I don&#8217;t always cook a meal that uses the oven so I tested out a few other options.  You may want to try these for yourself.</p>
<p><strong>Top of Grill</strong><br />
If you have a black grill, place a 10&#8243;x10&#8243; piece of aluminum foil on top of it to keep your stone clean and put it out at least an hour before your meal.  Direct sunlight will heat the black grill and radiate that to the stones.  Always use an oven mitt to remove and carry the stones.</p>
<p><strong></strong><a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4231.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-955" title="CIMG4231" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4231-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="240" /></a>If you are using the grill to cook your meal, it is worth the hassle of setting the stones aside each time you open the lid to rotate your grilling items.  Place a hot pad down on the grill shelf to easily set your stones and to grab when you are ready to set back up on top of the grill.  Always use an oven mitt to remove and carry the stones.</p>
<p><strong>In The Car</strong><br />
We all know how hot the inside of a car can get with the windows up.  <strong><a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4227.jpg"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-952 alignright" title="CIMG4227" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4227-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="105" height="105" /></a></strong> That heat transfers nicely to the stone.  <strong></strong>An hour in the car should do the trick.  <strong></strong>Direct sunlight will help heat up the stone if placed in the back window.  Always use an oven mitt to remove and carry the stones.</p>

<p>On a cloudy day, setting them on your stepping stones will keep them warm until the sun appears again!  I like to set my stones out in the sun about an hour before my meal.  That way it is completely warmed all the way through.  <a href="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4211.jpg"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-944" title="CIMG4211" src="http://www.diningstones.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/CIMG4211-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></p>
<p>If you have a black grill, placing it on top of that will also heat your stone.  If you have any other solar ideas, please email them to me through our “<a href="http://www.diningstones.com/contact.html" target="_blank">Contact Us</a>” page.</p>
<p>Best regards,</p>
